Resource Development
Dave has become very proficient at creating or converting resources, for different teaching and learning situations. Dave sets very high standards in terms of presentation, ensuring high levels of accessibility and at a very competitive price.
VLE
Dave has worked for many clients in recent years to develop teaching resources within Moodle and other VLE systems. Resources developed are created in a way that can be easily modified in the future, will be mobile optimised and will have high levels of accessibility built in.
Xerte
Dave can create highly accessible and versatile learning objects using the open source Xerte Online Toolkits software, developed by the University of Nottingham.
Microsoft Office
Over the years Dave has used simple techniques within Microsoft Office to produce effective and professional looking resources using common packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Screencasting
Screencasts (videos of everything that is visible on the screen with a running audio commentary) can be very effective as instructional videos, as well as general teaching and learning videos. Over the years Dave has produced hundreds of such videos, and these can be produced with splash screens at start and end, introductory music, subtitles and textual scripts.
